*******Updated 9/5/10*****
We have closed our herd and will no longer be breeding any outside animals to our bucks.  Thank you for your understanding.

Welcome to Cherry Butte Dairy goats!  We are located in the beautiful Emmett Valley in Southern Idaho.   Looking to the north, we have a view of the beautiful butte and to the south, we see what is left of the once bountiful fruit orchards - thus our herd name was born!

Our herd, like so many others, started when our oldest son joined 4-H and chose the dairy goat project.  What started with two dairy goat kids has evolved into a growing herd enjoyed by the whole family.

While we do have several ADGA registered Nubian, Alpine and Nigerian bucks and does, we have shifted our focus to smaller, mini-dairy goats.  We  now have mini Alpines, Nubians,  Oberhasli, Lamanchas, and Toggenbergs.

The mini-dairy goats are finding a niche with the small acreage owners who would like to keep a goat or two for milking for personal use.  They can produce 2/3 the milk on half the feed as their larger counterparts and their smaller size makes them ideal pets for children or those who can no longer handle standard size animals.

Our kids are hand-raised on heat-treated colostrum and pasturized milk.  We do feed by lambar but our kids are handled daily and love attention.

We feed quality alfalfa hay and offer free-choice salt and minerals.  We worm on a rotating basis with Ivomec and Safeguard for goats.  Each animal is also vaccianted anually with CD&T and BoSe.

****Please note - we do NOT sell our milk****

After alot of experimenting over the years - we have chosen to feed Purina products.
